Back to Church Sunday  Back to Church Sunday 2008 More than 90 churches across the diocese are gearing up to offer a warm welcome to friends and neighbours who they will be inviting on Back to Church Sunday - next month on 28th September. Following on from training sessions on ensuring a friendly welcome and how to make the service user friendly, churches have now collected packs with invites, balloons and cards to give away on the day. Last year more than a thousand new people returned to church in this diocese through back to Church invitations and the hope is to build on that number this year. Chief Executive for the Diocese and a member of the Back to Church Sunday national team said: “It’s all over to individuals now to pray about who they want to invite. We hope churches will be praying about the day now and working hard on encouraging everyone to give a warm welcome to visitors on the day.” The theme for this year is ‘VIP’ invitations…with the message that everyone is a very important person to God and the churches want to extend his invitation to people in their communities  |  Downloads &Links   |
