Bishop supports wheelchair rugby event

The Bishop of Sherwood, the Rt Revd Tony Porter will join supporters the European Wheelchair Rugby Championships tomorrow ( Friday, 28th September) at Trent University’s Clifton Site, Nottingham.

A keen sportsman, Bishop Tony will be cheering on teams from different parts of the UK and Sweden and Belgium as they battle it out for the championship.

He said; “I thought I was tough when I played sport but it’s nothing compared to these people and I’m looking forward to them showing me a thing or two about competitiveness!”

Photo opportunities: there will be opportunities for photos from 11-12noon with the Bishop, players and supporters at the Sports Centre on the Clifton Site of Trent University. Access via the south gate.
